You may have heard the adage, “What you resist, persists.”  At first this made no sense to me, but I've come to believe this is true.   Whether we are talking about personal growth or social change, efforts to change ourselves and others don’t always respond well to the tactics of resistance. Even beginner students of psychology know this, but we do it anyway.  Are there ways we can work smarter, not harder, to create inclusion and beloved community, given what we understand about human nature?
