Spiritual Explorers
The UUTC Spiritual Explorers group meets on Thursdays to consider the role of World Religions in helping people find meaning and purpose in life.
Our next book discussion begins May 7th from 2 to 3:30 and we’ll meet for eight Thursdays before taking a summer break.
“Healing the Heart of Democracy: The courage to create a politics worthy of the human spirit,” by Quaker teacher Parker Palmer, is the book we will be studying. The book has a new edition in 2024 complete with a study guide.
We recognize that true spirituality must be expressed consistently and in community. Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and other major world religions are committed to compassion and hospitality and we practice that in our group. New members are always welcome.
"The Fire in Our Bones: Compelled Toward Justice."
What fuels our commitment to a better world when the journey gets heavy? This Sunday, our guest speaker, Rev. Jim Moseley, will explore the ancient story of Jeremiah, a prophet who wrestled deeply with despair and social isolation, yet found an unstoppable inner spark that compelled him to keep speaking truth to power. Join us as we reflect on how we can sustain our own passion, honor our doubts, and find collective strength to stand for justice in challenging times.

Magic Chalice Camp
Wizard Chalice Camp is coming again to UUTC!
Get your kids ready, Hogwarts comes to Brevard with lots of magic, mystery and fun for all. Kids aged 5 to 11 are invited to attend, with service and leadership roles available for ages 12 and up. Dates are Monday, June 15 to Friday, June 19, running 9 AM to noon daily, at the Unitarian Universalists of Transylvania County at 24 Varsity St. (across from the Cardinal Drive-In on Broad St. in Brevard).
Stick Together, Do What's Right, Don't Give Up!
As we think about how to get through difficult times, we will consider lessons learned from Penguins, Pride events, Juneteenth observances, childhood TV Westerns, and other diverse sources. How can we not only survive but flourish by joining with and supporting each other?
Rev. Nancy Richards is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and a member of UUTC. She works as a landlord, providing affordable housing, and also as an abstract painter. She is committed to justice, inclusion, and compassion.

How To Have a Curious Heart
Unitarian Universalists tend to be inquisitive by nature. We have lots of questions - a sure sign of a curious mind. But do we have curious hearts? Are we open to answers that we don't want or reasons we don't understand? When our minds resist curiosity, our hearts can find an alternative.
