Recently, we have been focusing on sacred activism. It is our passion for love, justice, peace, and dignity that guides us. We are reading books that inform us as we move forward in a world turned upside down. Our latest book is published by Beacon Press, our Unitarian Universalist-associated publishing house.
Reverend Dr. William J Barber started his ministry in North Carolina. He began the Poor People’s Campaign in 2017. This campaign calls for a national moral revival. His book, Revive Us Again, suggests ways to build a movement to make America fair and just for everyone.
No registration required. Acquire the book and join us on Thursdays at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary.
A Course in Miracles
Thursdays 4 to 5 pm in Yellow Chalice House behind church.
Awaken from this dream of separation and experience the Love and Inner Peace that you truly are…

"Meeting the Moment - Imagining our Future Together"
As the UUA engages a nation-wide call for learning, reflection and action to meet the new realities of these times, we at UUTC are also preparing to "meet the moment", engaging in an exciting building project to address the needs we see in our community. This sermon comes out of our conversations with our Stewardship for Us Consultant, Rev. Lydia Ferrante-Roseberry, to listen deeply to one another about our hopes and dreams. We'll share the visions and what it will take to make them a reality.

Interfaith Series
Are animals worthy of religious recognition? This talk will consider how Christianity and Buddhism ritualize animals through blessings, funerals, and life releases. Examining creation theology versus karmic rebirth reveals how each tradition includes animals as ritual subjects while maintaining distinct boundaries between human and nonhuman beings.
Barbara R. Ambros, Department Chair, is a professor in East Asian Religions in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research on Japanese Religions has focused on gender studies, human-animal relationships, and place and space.

The Incarnation of Love
The Incarnation of Love. Unitarian Universalists have recently revised our purposes and principles to put Love in the center. Love in action. So we are called to be the incarnation of love through actions such as justice, interdependence, equity, and transformation.
Special guest speaker Rev. Jean Rowe will speak about some of the theological foundations of the incarnation of Love, drawing on insights from the great 20th-century theologian Paul Tillich.

"Embodying Resilience" from Emerson: "Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt have crept in... Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense." Let's do this together.
