Musicke Antiqua: Spring Fling!

Musicke Antiqua performs music from the Medieval and Renaissance though the Baroque and Modern eras, in costume, on replicas of a wide variety of early music instruments, including recorders, double reed instruments, strings and percussion. This concert will run the gamut from the Renaissance to the Modern era. Praetorius! Corelli! Oswald! Holst!

Musicke Antiqua seeks to enrich cultural life through exciting, historically informed live performances and educational programs designed to inspire a new appreciation of early music and enable and support the study of early music and instruments.

Musicke Antiqua began as a recorder trio in Brevard, NC, in 2000, and now includes thirteen members from Asheville, Brevard, Columbus, Hendersonville, Pisgah Forest, Tryon and Weaverville. Many of us are retired educators of music, computer science, language, journalism, sociology, botany, and mathematics; others come from the fields of psychology, cartography, missionary work, and ministry.

Musicke Antiqua's proceeds from this concert will support the Transylvania County Children's Center, which advocates for and supports abused children.
