There is a Chinese Proverb that says “The remedy for dirt is soap and water; the remedy for dying is living.” We make New Year’s resolutions in hope of a better year, a better life. Yet, we soon break them. Why? Perhaps resolution is the wrong mindset for welcoming in the new. Instead, let us consider revival as a lifelong friend, to engage with, minute by minute, day by day. Let’s gather to rekindle the spirit on an ongoing basis – as we cross the New Year threshold together.
