The mythologist, Joseph Campbell compares our misreading of mythical/religious symbolism to a man who goes into a restaurant to order a beefsteak and is handed the menu. When he sees the word, "beefsteak" he proceeds to eat the menu. We will explore the mis-takes we make in literal interpretations of "menus" through one of the powerful symbols in Western religion, Christ.
